Lambeth Mind is an independent local
charity working for the well-being of people experiencing any kind of
mental distress by providing information, advice and support and through
campaigning for better services.
Our vision for Lambeth is of a society that promotes and protects good mental health and
well-being for all, and that treats people with experience of mental distress fairly, positively, and with respect.
Our mission: Lambeth Mind aims to improve the lives of local people who are experiencing
mental distress. This means equipping them with the knowledge to make good decisions about their care, while
building their confidence, self-esteem, skills and sense of purpose. It also means supporting and informing friends,
families, carers and professionals.
The majority of us involved in running and staffing Lambeth Mind have experience of
using or receiving mental health services of various kinds ourselves.
We manage our affairs independently through our trustees which is
elected annually from our membership. We currently employ a Voluntary Co-ordinator
and an Information Service Manager.
Otherwise Lambeth Mind depends on the support of its volunteer team.
